This guide covers installation of the public release of Switchroot Android 10/Q, based on LineageOS 17.1, on the Switch. The original home of this guide was here. All photos are credited to @bylaws on XDA Developers Forum.
¶ Requirements
- RCM-exploitable Switch (CHECK HERE FIRST)
- RCM exploitation method (Usually a jig, but other methods can be found HERE)
- Computer
- USB-C cable/USB-C Switch autoinjector
- High quality SD card >= 16GB
- microSD card reader for the computer
¶ Prerequisites
- Nuke any Switchroot Andorid Oreo installations or Pie, Q, or R dev builds before attempting to install this release
- Ensure SD is formatted as FAT32 or exFAT. It will be formatted automatically as FAT32 during partitioning as it is necessary to boot Android (or L4T Linux)
¶ Steps
- Download the required files and put hekate on the SD card
a. Download the latest version of the hekate bootloader from HERE ( hekate_ctcaer_[version]_Nyx_[version].zip )
b. Unzip the hekate archive to the root of the SD card
c. Download the latest zip HERE of either icosa-tab (standard tablet Android) or icosa-atv (Android TV)
Your SD card should now look like this, assuming it is shared with HOS (Horizon OS/Switch OS):
Prepare Switch, boot into hekate, and dump JoyCon pairing info
a. Boot into HOS and ensure Joy-Cons are paired
b. Insert your SD card into your Switch, slide the RCM jig into the right rail
c. Hook your Switch up to your PC (or other payload injector) via USB-C and power off the console
d. Press Power and VOL + simultaneously to enter RCM mode and inject the hekate payload ( hekate_ctcaer_[version].bin ) that came with your downloaded hekate zip
NOTE: To keep it simple you can use this in Google Chrome (not compatible with other browsers), check «Upload .bin payload» and select the payload mentioned above, then click «Do the thing!» and select «APX» from the pop-up menu.
e. Once booted into hekate , you can remove the RCM jig, and launch Nyx Options 
f. Dump your Joy-Con BT pairing information (with your Joy-Cons railed) 
g. Ensure the message is correct, otherwise physically re-connect and re-pair the JoyCons in HOS and try again 
Partition SD card in hekate
a. Navigate to hekate ‘s partition manager 
b. Use sliders to select appropriate space for each OS (we recommend at least 16 GB for Android, although it should be usable with
8GB), then press Next Step
NOTE: this step creates multiple partitions for a somewhat standard AOSP layout — look HERE for more information if interested
c. You may want backup Nintendo folder or any CFW files if necessary via hekate ‘s SD UMS tool over USB-C or by removing the SD card and reading directly on a PC ( hekate /Nyx can pause and reload when SD is removed), but Hekate will offer to backup and restore up to 1 GB of data from your existing file-system.
Add ROM zips to SD
a. Plug the Switch into your PC and select «SD UMS»
b. Extract the icosa-tab or icosa-atv zip to the root of the SD card (any major unzipping program should work fine as of 8/16/21)
Your SD card should now look like this:
Add other zips and enter recovery
a. If you would like to add Google Play functionality, we follow the recommendations of the LineageOS org on which GApps package to install. For standard tab Android, use MindTheGapps 10.0 for arm64, and for Android TV, use OpenGApps 10.0 tvmini for arm64.
b. If you have any other flashable zips, place them on the root of the SD card
c. Safely remove/eject the SD UMS device from your computer
d. Back on the Switch, select «Flash Android» and accept the prompt to reboot to recovery
e. Swipe right to allow writing to the SD
f. Press Install, then «Select Storage» in recovery and select «Micro SD Card»
g. Install the Lineage zip, followed by your GApps zip and any other zips you may have to install (see Extra Zips), and select Reboot -> System
First boot
a. If setup gets stuck on voice detection go back to the Wi-Fi config page and select «Skip for now»
b. Your JoyCons will not auto-pair on first boot—reboot to auto-pair your dumped JoyCons in Android
Subsequent boots
a. Boot Switchroot Android from More Configs —> Switchroot Android 10 in hekate
b. Hold VOL + on choosing this option to get back to recovery to flash zips
c. Hold VOL — on choosing this option to get back to hekate without having to reinject a payload
d. Rebooting the Switch will take you back to stock firmware
Asking for support/If you get stuck
a. First, get a screenshot of SD Info in hekate —this will allow us to rule out the most common issue first
b. If you are experiencing seemingly unintended behavior while already booted into Android, try and get us a log—find a guide on how to install adb , enable USB debugging in developer options on the Switch, plug into the computer with adb installed, and run adb logcat > switchroot.log . If this seems like too much for you, just get a bug report from developer settings.
c. Submit the screenshot and logs if needed to in our Discord server—the invite link can be found HERE.
¶ Extra Zips
- GApps—Google Apps packages are used to add Google Play, GMS, and basic Google stock applications to your device. See step 5a for details.
- JoyCon Xbox Layout—grab the package from HERE to use an Xbox controller-style control scheme
- Lumince’s CPU overclock zips. Grab one of the <FREQUENCY>_OC-April_8th.zip package from HERE to use it
- WARNING: Leaving your Switch CPU OC’d to higher than recommended speeds for extended periods can decrease your battery’s lifespan, and this zip is not recommended for those who are not attempting to maximize performance at the expense of hardware longevity
¶ Updating
Updates are pushed through OTA (over-the-air) updates, just like any standard Android OEM. Use the Updater in Settings to get the latest updates without losing data.

Как установить Android на игровую приставку Nintendo Switch
Энтузиасты с сайта XDA Developers сдержали обещание и выпустили LineageOS 15.1 на базе Android 8.1 для игровой приставки Nintendo Switch. Установить прошивку можно с карты памяти, но процесс относительно сложный, поэтому требует навыков и понимания.
Прошивка была портирована с другой игровой приставки — NVIDIA Shield. Взлому поддаются не все экземпляры Nintendo Switch. Чем старее приставка, тем больше вероятности её взломать.
На Nintendo Switch используется собственная операционная система Nintendo со множеством ограничений. Приставка препятствует запуску игр, которые не были одобрены для неё производителем. После установки LineageOS эти ограничения снимаются: пользователь получает возможность запускать любые игры и приложения для Android, в том числе сервисы Google и стриминговый игровой сервис GeForce Now. Игровые контроллеры Nintendo сохраняют работоспособность, кроме того, появляется возможность играть с использованием клавиатуры и мыши.
Что потребуется:
Взламываемая версия Nintendo Switch. Проверить, подходит ли ваша приставка, можно здесь.
Компьютер и кабель USB Type-C.
Карта памяти минимум на 16 ГБ с адаптером для подключения к компьютеру.Требуемые файлы:
Версия прошивки LineageOS в зависимости от объёма карты памяти.
Набор GApps для Android 8.1 в версии ARM64. Требуется для установки сервисов и приложений Google.TegraRcmGUI — программа для отправки эксплойтов на Nintendo Switch.
balenaEtcher — программа для записи прошивки на карту памяти.
Hetake — загрузчик с выбором операционной системы.Установка прошивки:
- Вставьте карту памяти в компьютер.
- Запустите balenaEtcher, выберите файл android-XXgb.img.gz и нажмите «flash». Процесс записи может занять около часа, при этом все записанные ранее данные с карты памяти будут удалены.
- Закройте balenaEtcher. В «Проводнике» появятся два новых носителя информации. Первый будет показывать ошибку при попытке открыть его, а второй представляет из себя 2-гигабайтный раздел. Если эти накопители не появились, достаньте карту памяти и подключите её ещё раз.
- Поместите GApps.zip, не распаковывая, в 2-гигабайтный раздел.
- Достаньте карту памяти из компьютера и вставьте её в Nintendo Switch.
- Распакуйте zip-файл Hetake.
- Загрузитесь в RCM. Это можно сделать одним из нескольких способов, например, так.
- Запустите TegraRcmGUI. Откройте вкладку настроек и выберите «Install driver». Вернитесь в основную вкладку и выберите.bin-файл Hetake. Подключите консоль к компьютеру кабелем. В TegraRcmGUI появится сообщение «RCM OK». После этого можно отсоединить консоль от компьютера.
- Перейдите в «More Configs», нажмите кнопку прибавления громкости и выберите «Switchroot Android». Зажимайте кнопку прибавления громкости до тех пор, пока не появится меню TWRP.
- Нажмите «Install», а затем «Select Storage» и «Micro SD card». Выберите zip-файл GApps и переместите слайдер вправо. Сотрите кэш Dalvik.
- Если при установке GApps появится сообщение об ошибке, перейдите в меню Mount и проведите проверку системы.
- Перезапустите консоль, снова зайдите в RCM и ещё раз запустите hetake с компьютера. Загрузитесь в Android, но теперь не нажимайте ни на какие кнопки.
- На консоли запустится Android. Завершите первичную настройку и установите или обновите приложения NVIDIA в Play Маркете.
Установка LineageOS не затрагивает основную операционную систему Nintendo Switch, поэтому нет риска привести приставку в негодность.
Android 11 для Switch OLED
1. Нужна карта microSD от 32ГБ желательно
2. Заходим в rufus форматируем карту, как НЕ загрузочный, БЕЗ метки тома, система FAT32, блок 64KB (если у вас карта более 512GB форматировать с помощью самого switch)
3. Разархиируем
архив android11_switch_oled.zip зеркало в итоге получится папка: android11_switch_oled, закидываем ee СОДЕРЖИМОЕ на карту microSD, вставляем карту в switch и грузимся в хекату
4. В хекате выбираем Tools -> Partition SD Card -> OK, далее тянем ползунок ОРАНЖЕВЫЙ — Android сколько вы хотите в итоге выделить раздел под вашу систему Android, оставьте 3-5ГБ для FAT32 на карте (также не забываем из главного меню хекаты выбрать (слева снизу) NYX Settings и далее Dump Joy-Con BT) жмем Next step -> Start и затем подтвердить однократным нажатием кнопки питания switch, далее жмем Falsh Android
5. Если вы все сделали верно, загрузится рекавери меню LineageOS, где внизу будет ошибка cache — это нормально, заходим в Factory reset и жмем Format cache partition
6. Возвращаемся стрелочкой назад и жмем Apply update выбирайте файл на вашей флешке microSD: lineage-18.1-20230308-UNOFFICIAL-nx_tab.zip он прошьется, затем если нужны гапсы: open_gapps-arm64-11.0-mini-20220215.zip
7. Перезагружаемся в обычный режим LineageOS выбрав reboot system в рекавери, вы попадете в хекату, где нужно выбрать на главном экране — More Configs и далее запустить ярлык LineageOS 18.1На этом все. Есть еще папка extra в том же архиве, в ней находятся патчи для джой конов и shieldifier. Всем удачи.
Не забудьте положить на карту файлы хекаты и payload, если не хотите париться, скачайте тот же кефир и после этого залейте файлы из android11_switch_oled

1.- Grab the latest update from Releases (Download both files, the lineage-1x.1-[date]-[codename]-daviiid99.zip and the Hekate SD.zip)
2.- Extract the Hekate SD.zip contents into your SD Card root and copy the lineage-1x.1-[date]-UNOFFICIAL-[codename]-daviiid99.zip file in the root as well.
3.- Launch Hekate on your non-mariko Switch and go to Tools> Arch bit • RCM • Touch • Partitions> Partition SD Card
4.- Use the slider to give Android some space, then select Next Step to start the repartition process.
If hekate doesn’t give you the chance to backup the SD files, repeat step 1 with the result partition scheme to copy the files in the main partition
5.- Select the Flash Android option, when finished presh Continue.
6.- When prompted to reboot into TWRP, select Continue.
7.- In TWRP, select the MOUNT option and mount all possible partitions.
8.- Return to TWRP main menu and select the Install option , then Select Storage and choose the Micro SD card option and select the lineage-1x.1-[date]-UNOFFICIAL-[codename]-daviiid99.zip file from root directory.
9.- Wait for the flash process to finish, then return and select Reboot> System.
10.- Your Switch will boot into LineageOS system.
(Extras): You can flash the following add-ons from TWRP
How to fix «Bluetooth keeps stopping» (English Instructions)
1.-Boot into Atmosphere OS (emuNAND/sysNAND) and pair a new joy-con set (this will write bluetooth MAC)
2.- Reboot to hekate bootloader and select Nyx Options> Dump Joy-Con BT (this will dump 2 files to switchroot android folder called «joycon-mac»)
3.- Boot into TWRP and erase all partitions, flash the rom again and boot androidOS, bluetooth should be working now
Cómo instalar esta ROM (Spanish Instructions)
1.- Descarga la última actualización de Releases (Descarga ambos archivos, el lineage-1x.1-[fecha]-UNOFFICIAL-[modelo]-daviiid99.zip y el Hekate SD.zip)
2.- Extrae el archivo Hekate SD.zip en la raíz de tu SD y copia el archivo lineage-1x.1-[fecha]-UNOFFICIAL-[modelo]-daviiid99.zip también en la raíz.
3.- Ejecuta Hekate en tu Switch(no Mariko) y selecciona las opciones siguientes Tools> Arch bit • RCM • Touch • Partitions> Partition SD Card
4.- Use el slider para dar a Android espacio en su partición, y selecciona Next Step para reparticionar la SD.
Si en este paso hekate te borra los archivos de la SD sin hacer backup, reintroducela en el PC y copialos de nuevo en la partición principal
5.- Selecciona la opción Flash Android, cuando finalize pulsa Continue
6.- Cuando te pregunte sobre iniciar TWRP, selecciona Continue
7.- En TWRP, selecciona la opción MOUNT y monta todas las particiones posibles.
8.- Retrocede al menú principal de TWRP y selecciona la opción Install , después Select Storage y elige Micro SD card y selecciona el archivo de la rom, el lineage-1x.1-[fecha]-UNOFFICIAL-[modelo]-daviiid99.zip de la raíz.
9.- Espera a que termine de instalarse la ROM, cuando finalice retrocede al menú principal y selecciona Reboot> System
10.- Tu Nintendo Switch iniciará LineageOS sin problemas.

Cómo corregir «Bluetooth sigue sin funcionar» (Spanish Instructions)
1.- Inicia Atmosphere OS (emuNAND/sysNAND) y vincula un nuevo par de joy-con (esto sobreescribirá el MAC)
2.- Reinicia al bootloader hekate y selecciona Nyx Options> Dump Joy-Con BT (Esto dumpeará dos archivos a la carpeta switchroot llamados «joycon-mac»)
3.- Inicia TWRP y limpia todas las particiones, instala la ROM y inicia android, bluetooth debería funcionar.
